Starting any business is extremely difficult and involves a steep learning curve – starting and running a day care center or any other form of child care business is no different and I aim to make that process easier for all you would-be day care operators by sharing my many years of day care knowledge and experience.
The choice to start a day care business is a wise one and anyone getting in now is sure to benefit. Demand for day cares is enormous as single income families become a thing of the past and more mothers of young children are forced to find jobs outside the home. Add to this the current gloomy economy and that demand is set to increase.

A little about me/us – my name is Fiona Lohrenz and I am mother to a crazy toddler and have been running my own day care center for the past 10 years. Steve is my better half and the software developer/technical whiz. I came into the child care business with absolutely no knowledge of said industry and had to learn it all the hard way. I spent two years researching, writing my day care business plan and working in various day cares voraciously consuming every nugget of child care knowledge that came my way. Ten years of running my day care business later and I am still learning every day.
Acquiring the knowledge to start my day care business was really difficult, frustrating and time consuming and that is why I launched ChildCareOnly.com and my Start a Day Care DVD Guide plus Survival Pack.

The site also incorporates my day care blog and I try to comment on there as often as possible covering some of the day to day events I encounter in my day care business.
